Sam Lemheney
Director of Design the Philidelphia International Flower Show
Sam Lemheney has spent a lifetime in gardening and design. Now the Philadelphia International Flower Show Director of Design, his love of horticulture started with his working alongside his grandfather (a nurseryman) and his father (a floral designer). The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Philadelphia International Flower Show, an annual tradition since 1829, covers more than 10 acres at the Pennsylvania Convention Center with more than 50 full-scale garden displays and 4,000 individual plant and design entries. The show attracts more than 300,000 visitors each year. Prior to the Philadelphia Flower show, Mr. Lemheney was the Walt Disney World’s Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival’s area manager. He also worked on other horticultural programs at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. In 2003, Mr. Lemheney joined the International Flower Show as Director of Design. Mr. Lemheney is also an active member of the International Festivals and Events Association and served on its Board of Directors from 2002-2008. He attended the University of Delaware where he studied Plant Science with a concentration in Ornamental Horticulture.
