Creative FX
Brion Chang is the owner of Creative FX, a design/build company in Honolulu that specializes in integrating key fundamentals of branding with strong visual applications for festivals and events. His often heard mantra is to understand an event's mission and to focus design elements that "tell the story" about a specific event or organization.
With over 35 years of experience in the Food and Beverage and Hospitality industry, Brion's expertise also focuses on addressing logistical demands for large-scale venues to create seamless integration of infrastructure and basic operations. This combination of organizational and venue skills are intrinsically balanced for small or large scale events, with 1,000 to 45,000 attendees.
Brion's projects are multi-faceted and include:
Design and fabrication of the "Millennium Stage" in 2000 for ABC World News Tonight's special 24-hour global coverage hosted by Peter Jennings;
Hawaii State Department of Transportation's Traveling Pedestrian Safety Exhibit;
Ala Moana Shopping Center's Christmas Light Parade Train and Floats;
Macadamia Nut Exhibit at the Honolulu International Airport; and
Development of the Honolulu Harbor Festival and Cool Kailua Nights Block Party.
Brion is also on the board of directors for the Kalo Awards and Hawaii Event Group.
Brion continues into his 12th year as logistics and venue designer for the Pan-Pacific Festival's Hoolauliea, a signature event for the week long festival of the Kamehameha Celebration weekend. He is responsible for coordinating the movement of nearly 100 vendors and sub-contractors, managing the safe flow of 45,000 attendees, and ensuring the event's brand with new visual impacts.
