Tsuchiyama, the recipient of the 2006 of the “Employee of the Year” award presented by the RCUH (Research Corporation of the UH), is the Assistant Director of the University of Hawai`i at HiloConference Center.

Her career with the University commenced in 1991 when she accepted a position as a fiscal assistant. Fast forward to the future and Mary Ann is now the Assistant Director and oversees the organizational management of the UHH Conference Center.

With over 15 years of experience in event and office management, MaryAnn has finessed her craft and is considered an expert in the field of event management, educational tourism and “all things logistic.”

One of the projects, directed under the auspices of the UHH Conference Center, (the Hawaiian EDventure Program) has been recognized with the highest honors by the HVCB, HTA and other international organizations.

A dedicated community member, Mary Ann continues to be a leading force in the community. She chairs and participates in numerous projects with Waiakea High School and commits her own time to educational and community based programs that inspire Hawai`i’s youth.

Married, with two children, Mary Ann’s priority has always been her family so they, too, have lived and learned to love the world of event management. She is a testament to “You can do it all!”
