On-the-Waterfront’s President, Becky Genoways, CFEE, has turned this Rockford, Illinois event into the Mid-West’s largest music festival. It attracts almost 250,000 visitors. Starting from the mission of “community advancement through celebration to impact the area’s quality of life,” the four-day event has expanded to include a film festival, a festival store, and new sources of non-sponsorship revenues.  The re-invention of the 25-year-old festival has garnered it a prestigious national Gold Grand Pinnacle award from the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA). Ms. Genoways, who holds a bachelor’s from the University of Northern Colorado, is an active speaker at IFEA and hosts event training webinars.
